Good news! Dr. Nida will be returning once again to continue transmitting the Yuthok Nyingthig.
On Thursday evening, May 23rd at 6 PM, Dr. Nida Chenagtsang will be bestowing the Yuthok Nyingthig Long Life Empowerment. Cost: $50
The Yuthok Nyingthig contains special long-life practices that eliminate and prevent illness, lengthen the lifespan of the practitioner, and bring all levels of spiritual accomplishment. As the great master Guru Rinpoche said: “Of all activities, the first should be long-life practice. If life is long, it can be virtuous and the purpose of this life and the next can be achieved.”
On Friday, May 24 from 10 AM - 5-6 PM, Dr. Nida will teach on the Yuthok Nyingthig Long Life sadhana and Hooking the La activity practice. Cost: $100
This one-day teaching will cover two interrelated topics: 1) the Yuthok Nyingthig long-life sadhana or practice and 2) hooking the La practice. Through the long-life sadhana, one can prevent untimely death as well as increase one’s lifespan. Those who have received the Yuthok Nyingthig long-life empowerment and this sadhana can practice this sadhana for their own and others’ benefit.
In Tibetan medicine, the La is our subtle life-force, the pure energy of the five elements that circulates within the body according to the lunar cycle. The La energy, closely connected with our consciousness, protects and nourishes both the physical body and the mind. The La can be compromised due to chronic illness, stress, physical or emotional trauma, or aggressive medical treatments. Traditionally, it is said that our La energy can also be “stolen” by negative influences from the outside. Signs of loss of the La energy include lack of strength and stability in the physical body, chronic fatigue, anxiety and depression, and a mind that is full of confusion and doubts.
In this teaching, Dr Nida will explain the La energy from both a medical and spiritual perspective. He will then teach the Yuthok Nyingthig practice for “hooking back” the lost La from the 10 directions and return it to one's own body in order to restore physical health and vitality, happiness, and clarity.
Both of these practices are excellent for Vajrayana Buddhist practitioners of any lineage or for anyone simply seeking greater health of body, energy, and mind. These are also highly practical teachings for healthcare practitioners who are seeking a deeper understanding of the subtle causes of imbalance in their patients.
There are no pre-requisites to attend this course. However, in order to perform this La-hooking practice to benefit others, it is required to complete one 7-day Yuthok Nyingthigngondro preliminary practice retreat and one 7-day outer Guru Yoga retreat either alone or in a group.
On Saturday, May 25 from 10 AM - 5-6 PM, Dr. Nida will teach on mantra healing, including the oral transmission of Ju Mipham's disease-specific collection of mantras. Cost: $100
Ju Mipham was one of the greatest Nyingma Lamas of the late 19th century. Although especially known as a scholar and Buddhist philosopher, Mipham was also a practitioner of Tibetan medicine and a great mantric practitioner, having spent most of His adult life in retreat. Among Mipham’s 50-some written works is included a compendium of healing mantra, with each mantra targeted at treating a specific disease or class of disease. In this one-day class, Dr. Nida will transmit this collection of mantras.
There are no prerequisites to attend this course. However, there may be practice requirements before being able to successfully apply these mantras in clinical practice. In general, before one can use a mantra to accomplish its intended effect, one must usually say that mantra a certain number of times to generate a “reservoir” of spiritual energy.
